On June 13, 2019, the U.S. District Court Central District of California granted preliminary approval for the $215 million federal class action settlement to compensate patients who received women’s health services from George Tyndall at the Student Health Center.

As part of the settlement, notice will be provided to potential members of the class in a variety of ways. Beginning July 12, 2019, a court appointed independent settlement administrator will provide public notices on websites, social media, alumni communications, campus publications and physical campus locations like dining and residence halls.

Providing notice in this comprehensive manner helps address our hope to bring about a fair, respectful and certain resolution for those who were affected, and to help the healing process for our community.

Through the settlement, the university also is instituting additional reforms to build upon the impactful changes we have already made to improve our university. To learn more, please visit: https://change.usc.edu/change-progress-dashboard-grid/.
